Joyful Noise are the producers of
The London African Music Festival (established in 2003)
The Pulse Concert Series (established in 1994)

Biyi Adepegba and Barbara Pukwana established Joyful Noise in January 1990 to present
contemporary world black music. The first concert under the banner of "Joyful Noise"
was presented at the Conway Hall in March 1990 and the first concert at the
South Bank Centre in September 1990.In 1992, Joyful Noise relaunched Jika Records
(the recording company established by Dudu and Barbara Pukwana in 1980) to produce
recordings by The South African Gospel Singers, Township Express with
Pinise Saul and Lucky Ranku, The Master Drummers of Africa, Claude Deppa,

The African Jazz Allstars. Since 1994 Joyful Noise has been producing concerts
for The London Jazz Festival, Rhythm Sticks Festival,
the Arts Council England and London Arts.In 2003 Joyful Noise launched
The London African Music Festival at the Royal Festival Hall to celebrate
" essential music from a vibrant continent".

The critically acclaimed festival has quickly become one of the major annual
music events in London and is now held in a series of London venues.With its
extensive knowledge about the African Music Scene Joyful Noise has become one
of the major forces in this field and is acting as a consultant
for a number of festivals and promoters. Joyful Noise manages selective artists and
their tours Joyful Noise has also been actively furthering new collaborations,
commissioning new music and discovering anddeveloping young artists.
