MAD PROFESSOR AND THE ARIWA POSSEE

ert

Live Dub Big Band

Errol Nichlson, Paul Joseph, Steven Smith, Henry Holder, Cush, Patrick Augustus,
Aisha, Sister Audrey, Macka B, Chukki Starr, Karl Melody.

Sonic dub genius creates cutting edge reggae live on stage for the first time. Mad Professor's "live dub show" is a journey into on-stage manipulation of samplers, mixers and effects processors that create a dense, shifting collage of sounds and rhythms and other unidentifiable sonic objects that whiz around in a vortex of echo. Joining sound creator Mad Professor are his Ariwa Possee featuring Errol NICHLSON (bass); Paul Emmanuel JOSEPH (guitar); Steven SMITH (kit drum); Henry David HOLDER (keyboards); Cush (conga); Patrick Augustus (steel drum). Expect surprise guests artists each night from the Ariwa stable pool of artists, including the likes of Aisha, Sister Audrey, Macka B, Chukki Starr, Karl Melody and many more! The sound engineer Joseph Fraser sound manipulates adds colour to unforgettable sound.

Brief Biography of Mad Professor

Mad Professor’s own label Ariwa record label has released over 100 albums since 1981. In addition to his own dub and reggae work, which ranges from political to experimental to downright extraterrestrial, mad professor has remixed tracks from Massive Attack, Depeche Mode, Jamiroquai, Rancid, KLF and Perry Farrell. Since his youth mad professor has had an insatiable passion for electronics. Born in Guyana and raised in England , Mad Professor built his first radio at age eight, followed by a mixing board and finally a complete home studio. Throughout the 1980s Mad Professor earned a reputation as one of the best reggae producers in Britain , with both reggae and non-reggae acts asking him to overhaul their work. Of all his production work, perhaps his most celebrated and recognised project (in non reggae circles) was his remix of Massive Attack’s sophomore album Protection in 1996, which tied the roots of reggae and club to modern day trip-hop and trance like no one else had before.
