Nigeria’s greatest vocal choir arrives with music that captures the heart and moves the soul. The choir is 11 female strong and backed by a six-piece band. The choir’s awe-inspiring reputation as the voice of Nigeria comes from their abilities to mix secular songs with non-secular songs.

This captivating all female choir fuses church songs with popular songs by the likes of King Sunny Ade, Chief Ebenezer Obey and Fela Kuti and presents them in the Yoruba tradition .

Bola Are - a truly great leader

The leader of this extraordinary vocal powerhouse, Dr BOLA ARE has been a household name in Nigeria for over 25 years and has released over 50 recordings in a stunning 25 years of great music making. Dr Bola Are has transformed the choir into a national treasure. The choir is to Nigeria what The South African Gospel Singers is to South Africa and The Harlem Gospel Choir to America.

Funmi Olawumi – founder

Funmi Olawumi, the former lead singer of the Queens of Lagos, founded the choir in 2001 for a prominent church wedding. Within a short period the choir gained a formidable reputation for their harmonies and the choice of songs. Funmi Olawumi asked the great Bola Are to lead the choir as a tribute to Bola Are's phenominal song book which is usually featured in Yoruba Nigerian churches. Funmi also performs with the Faaji Drummers and Lagos For Show

Kunle Olasoju - music director

Funmi Olawumi teamed up with Kunle Olasoju, former guitarist with Femi Kuti and The Positive Force to lead the band because of his phenomenal skills as a guitarist and arranger.
